E-commerce case study celebrating timeless eyewear, inspired by Abbas Ibn Firnās, the 9th-century innovator and father of "reading stones," the precursor to modern glasses.

Challenge

The idea for this case study was to create a compelling brand identity for an eyewear e-commerce shop. The choice for naming it "Ibn Firnas" was to honor the 9th-century polymath Abbas Ibn Firnās, a key figure in the history of optics. The brand needed to embody innovation, accessibility, and vibrancy while appealing to a modern audience seeking stylish and functional eyewear.

Process

By delving into the rich history of Abbas Ibn Firnās and his contributions to optics, the research influenced the design decisions, inspiring a vibrant color scheme and a typography-focused approach. Engaging taglines capture the brand's innovative spirit. Throughout the process, we kept the core brand values of "engaging," "polished," "vibrant," and "accessible" at the forefront of our design choices.

Solution

The resulting brand identity with modern aesthetics and a visually striking logo and cohesive visual system that reflects the brand's innovative spirit and commitment to transformation. For the e-commerce platform, a streamlined checkout UX flow was implemented to minimize the bounce rate and enhance the user experience. The final product is a polished, vibrant, and accessible brand that not only pays homage to its namesake but also positions Ibn Firnas as a forward-thinking leader in the eyewear industry.
